Law360, New York (February 09, 2012, 9:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday dismissed its antitrust lawsuit and proposed settlement with Deutsche Boerse AG and NYSE Euronext over their proposed $9.7 billion merger, after the stock exchange giants formally agreed to kill the deal last week.
The DOJ said that since the deal is now dead, the suit and settlement were no longer necessary.
