Solar Project's Permit Problem Holds Up $646M DOE Loan

Law360, New York (February 10, 2012, 3:26 PM ET) -- Alternative energy company First Solar Inc.'s solar project in California may be in jeopardy because a permit issue is holding up $646 million in U.S. Department of Energy funding, First Solar said in a regulatory filing Thursday.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Tempe, Ariz.-based First Solar said the federal loan guarantee by the DOE for the Antelope Valley Solar Ranch One project is on hold pending resolution of an outstanding construction permit issue.
