Lehman Is Trying To Duck Parts Of Asset Deal: Barclays

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 5:49 PM EST) -- Barclays PLC asked a New York federal judge on Friday to enforce its interpretation of the contract governing its purchase of Lehman Brothers Inc. assets, arguing that the Lehman bankruptcy trustee has tried to renege on parts of the deal.

Lehman's trustee is trying to avoid transferring to Barclays about $3 billion in assets the British bank says were included in the deal, a massive transaction that was quickly negotiated after Lehman filed for bankruptcy.
