AmeriGas Says Consumer Gripe Site Deceives Users

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 7:37 PM ET) -- AmeriGas Propane LP on Friday sued a consumer complaint website in Pennsylvania federal court, claiming the site used its trademark and manipulated online search tools and social networking sites like Twitter to confuse consumers into clicking on advertisements for the company’s rivals.

Opinion Corp., which operates a website called Pissed Consumer, used AmeriGas' trademark in its company-specific subsites to trick users into visiting ads for the propane company's competitors, the suit says.
