Obama's Budget To Give Clean Energy A Leg Up

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 6:02 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama on Monday proposed a 2013 budget that heavily emphasizes the development of clean energy and boosts funding for agencies regulating offshore oil and gas development, but hits the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with further cuts.

The president's budget proposal calls on Congress once more to eliminate "inefficient and outdated" subsidies and tax preferences for oil and gas companies that amount to $4 billion annually.
