FreshDirect Wins $90M Aid Package To Build Bronx Base

Law360, New York (February 14, 2012, 5:25 PM EST) -- The New York City Industrial Development Agency approved $90 million in tax exemptions and grants Tuesday to help Internet grocer FreshDirect LLC build a new multimillion-dollar headquarters and operations center in the Bronx, despite concerns raised by a city official.

The approval came on the heels of New York City Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito urging the IDA to delay the final vote on the $90 million incentives package offered by the IDA and the New York City Economic Development Corp., which administers the IDA.
