Ex-McAfee GC Will Pay Fees To End Backdating Battle

Law360, New York (February 15, 2012, 5:57 PM EST) -- McAfee Inc. and its former general counsel on Monday agreed to end the lawyer's suit alleging the software maker made him the fall guy in a criminal and civil stock options backdating probe, after the Ninth Circuit had tossed the suit's remaining claims in November.

Under the terms of a stipulation of settlement filed in California federal court, Kent Roberts agreed to pay $17,940 in attorneys' fees incurred by McAfee and make a $100,000 donation to a charity of McAfee's choosing.
