AmEx Settles 'Blackcard' Trademark Row

Law360, New York (February 17, 2012, 5:31 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday approved a deal to settle American Express Co.'s trademark and unfair competition spat with Black Card LLC over the “Blackcard” mark.

The agreement ends a two-year-old lawsuit between the credit card companies and requires Black Card to transfer the Blackcard mark rights to AmEx and sign a licensing agreement to continue to use the trademark.
