Judge Assigns Special Master In LCD Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The immense volume of cases pending in the massive multidistrict antitrust litigation against TFT-LCD manufacturers has forced the presiding judge to appoint a special master to help take the load off.

U.S District Judge Susan Illston issued her order Friday with the consent of all parties in the putative class action, recruiting a retired compatriot, Judge Fern M. Smith, to the $700-an-hour role.
