Catholic Group Sues White House Over Contraception Rule

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 5:31 PM ET) -- A Catholic anti-abortion organization on Wednesday sued the Obama administration in New York federal court, claiming the administration’s new rule requiring employers to include free contraceptive care in their health care plans is unconstitutional, the latest of several suits challenging the provision.

Priests For Life says the mandate and the penalties it imposes — part of President Barack Obama's sweeping health care reform law — violate its religious and free-speech rights under the First Amendment, according to a complaint filed in federal court in Brooklyn, N.Y....
