Enviros Sue NRC To Block New Southern Co. Reactors

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 8:03 PM EST) -- A group of environmental organizations sued Thursday in the D.C. Circuit to block Southern Co.'s plans to build two new reactors at a Georgia nuclear power plant, saying the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission authorized the $14 billion project last week without considering lessons learned from last year's Fukushima disaster.
