Whistleblower Group Urges 3rd Circ. To Scrap Tyco SOX Ruling

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 7:27 PM EST) -- The National Whistleblowers Center asked the Third Circuit on Wednesday to hold that an ex-Tyco Electronics Corp. worker's disclosure of certain company expenditures he found concerning was protected by federal law, claiming a lower court used outdated legal standards in its dismissal.

In an amicus brief, the group requested that the court reverse and vacate the Pennsylvania federal court’s July decision that threw out Jeffrey Weist’s Sarbanes-Oxley Act whistleblower complaint.
