Law360, New York (February 17, 2012, 1:45 PM ET) -- Patent holding company Paice LLC and a charitable organization hit Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. with a lawsuit in Maryland federal court Thursday, accusing the car companies of willfully infringing three patents covering hybrid vehicle technology.
Patent co-owners Paice and the Abell Foundation Inc. were introduced through the University of Maryland's “incubator program,” which was set up to connect start-up companies with the local business and technical community, according to their complaint.
