LA County OKs Permits For Stalled $1.4B First Solar Plant

Law360, New York (February 17, 2012, 4:25 PM EST) -- First Solar Inc. is back on track to complete its Antelope Valley Solar Ranch One project in California after Los Angeles County approved construction permit changes needed to secure a $646 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy, a First Solar spokesman said Friday.

LA's departments of Regional Planning and Public Works signed off on land grading permits for the $1.36 billion, 235-megawatt solar photovoltaic development that had reportedly been stalled because they concerned more acreage than First Solar had originally proposed.
