Manufacturer, Insurers Denied Quick Wins In Asbestos Row

Law360, New York (February 22, 2012, 4:25 PM ET) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Wednesday refused to award summary judgment to General Refractories Co. or its insurers in a long-running dispute over the insurers’ purported duty to defend the manufacturer against underlying asbestos claims.

U.S. District Judge Edmund V. Ludwig also denied the insurers’ request to throw out a GRC expert’s affidavit, saying the defendants missed their opportunity to request limited discovery.
