UK Watchdog To Scrutinize RWE's Plan For Massive Wind Farm

Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 7:53 PM EST) -- U.K. infrastructure regulators agreed Thursday to review plans for a large wind farm off the eastern coast of England proposed by a green energy unit of German utility giant RWE AG.

The Triton Knoll offshore wind farm would contain up to 288 turbines and have a capacity of up to 1,200 megawatts, according to documents RWE Npower Renewables Ltd. filed with the U.K.'s Infrastructure Planning Commission.

At maximum capacity, Triton Knoll would generate enough energy to meet the needs of about 850,000 households in the U.K.,...
