Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 1:50 PM ET) -- Computer network equipment giant Cisco Systems Inc. will pay $271 million for privately held Lightwire Inc., a Pennsylvania business that makes transceivers capable of moving network data wirelessly using silicon-based circuits, Cisco said Friday.
Allentown, Pa.-based Lightwire, which counts New Science Ventures, Artiman Ventures, Novitas Capital and individuals among its shareholders, does not report revenue publicly. San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco said it would complete the deal for 100 percent of the business in its third quarter.
