Ex-Hedge Fund Manager Settles With CFTC For $1M

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 4:35 PM EST) -- A former Chicago hedge fund manager who pled guilty to running a $3.6 million investment fraud scheme agreed on Monday to pay a $1 million civil penalty to settle allegations by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

In addition to the penalty, James Giacomo Brandolino, 42, is also permanently barred from trading in any CFTC-registered entities and is forbidden from ever applying for registration with the commission, according to an order filed by the CFTC.
