Air Force Sets Aside $355M Aircraft Contract After Protest

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 4:40 PM EST) -- The U.S. Air Force will set aside a $355 million contract for light support aircraft awarded to Sierra Nevada Corp. and Brazil-based Embraer SA after a bid protest and invite new proposals for the contract, it said Tuesday.

In a notice filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the Air Force said it plans to set aside the award March 2 and is putting Hawker Beechcraft Defense Co. LLC — which initiated a bid protest Dec. 27 — back in the running.
