GE Unit Takes $100M Stake In Ariz. Solar Farm

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 3:48 PM EST) -- A General Electric affiliate has purchased a stake in a proposed 127-megawatt photovoltaic facility in southern Arizona for $100 million, injecting the project with much-needed financing and bringing GE's solar sector investments to $1.4 billion in the past year, GE said Wednesday.

The Arlington Valley Solar Energy II project, which is expected to provide affordable energy to about 53,000 homes and displace 215,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year, will now be able to start construction in March, according to GE Energy Financial Services....
