Another Cooley IP Attorney Defects For McDermott's Silicon Valley Office

Law360, New York (March 16, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery is continuing to poach attorneys from rival Cooley Godward’s Palo Alto office, which has lost at least four intellectual property attorneys so far this year.

McDermott said it had hired Andrew Kumamoto for the firm’s IP department as a partner. He focuses his practice on patent litigation, technology transactions and strategic patent planning.

Kumamoto is experienced in all areas of IP law, including litigation, U.S. and international patent prosecution, patent analysis and opinions, the firm said....
