Sovereign Wealth Remains Skittish About US Real Estate: Attys

Law360, New York (April 6, 2012, 3:31 PM EDT) -- Sovereign wealth funds have become much more cautious when investing in U.S. real estate over the past few months because of the global economic slowdown and continuing uncertainty about long-term U.S. economic policy, senior real estate attorneys told Law360.

Although many are still present in the U.S. market, the funds are focusing almost exclusively on the recovering U.S. hotel and trophy asset sectors, the attorneys said. Some funds are also defraying their risk by opting to invest as part of joint ventures, they said.
