Law360, New York (March 15, 2012, 12:08 PM ET) -- Cisco Systems Inc. will pay $5 billion to purchase video software company NDS Group Ltd. from private equity firm Permira Advisers LLP and News Corp., the computer networking giant said Thursday, marking its first major acquisition since 2009.
Cisco said NDS will complement its existing video networking services. It also picks up NDS' strong customer bases in India and China, where demand for computing services is expected to grow quickly.
