PG&E Adds Voice To Chorus Of Calpine Disapproval

Law360, New York (August 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company has joined with the state of California in fighting bankrupt Calpine Corp.'s disclosure statement and reorganization, saying the current plan could harm PG&E customers.

The company said on Tuesday that it takes issue with Calpine's plan to cancel its contract with the California Department of Water Resources to provide power for electricity customers in northern and central California, an agreement that assures around the clock power to PG&E's customers through 2009.
