Pro-Keystone Pipeline Group Demands EPA Communications

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 5:30 PM EDT) -- The conservative Institute for Energy Research asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Friday to hand over correspondence about the Keystone XL pipeline, hoping to demonstrate that the Obama administration's rejection of the proposed oil sands pipeline was political.

The group's Freedom of Information Act request says that President Barack Obama's decision to turn down TransCanada Corp.'s application for the proposed 1,700 mile pipeline between Alberta, Canada and the Gulf Coast appeared to be premised on politics, rather than on "science and sound economics."
