Power Cos. Battle Antitrust Claims Over Calif. Energy Crisis

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 8:16 PM EDT) -- Several energy companies embroiled in a longstanding legal battle over their prices and sale activities during the 2000-2001 California energy crisis argued Monday that if anything, their participation in the market during that time helped drive prices down.

Koch Energy Trading Inc., MPS Merchant Services Inc. and Illinova Energy Partners Inc. are only three of the many defendants named by other California energy companies and regulators in their wide-ranging suit over fraud and other allegedly anti-competitive market practices during the energy crisis.
