Glencore To Pay $6.1B For Canada's Biggest Grain Co.

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 1:26 PM EDT) -- Global mining and commodities trader Glencore International PLC will pay $6.1 billion in cash for Viterra Inc., Canada's biggest grain processor, and will immediately sell $2.6 billion in assets, the company said Tuesday.

Glencore will divvy up most of Viterra's Canadian grain processing assets between two Canadian agribusinesses, Richardson International and Agrium Inc., the company said in a statement.
