NY Building Owner Says Ex-Crowell Atty Bungled $16M Sale

Law360, New York (March 21, 2012, 5:14 PM EDT) -- The owner of a six-story Manhattan building told a New York state appeals court Wednesday that it shouldn't be forced to complete the building's $16 million sale because a former Crowell & Moring LLP attorney who helped negotiate the deal was allegedly running an embezzlement scheme.

The lawsuit is one of several involving real estate deals with former Crowell & Moring attorney Douglas Arntsen, who has been charged with embezzling millions of dollars from a firm escrow account.
