NY Bar Tells Attys To Avoid Foreign, Nonlawyer-Owned Firms

Law360, New York (March 21, 2012, 2:14 PM EDT) -- Empire State attorneys may not work for law firms owned by nonlawyers, even when those firms are located out of state, the New York State Bar Association's ethics committee said Wednesday in a decision consistent with its overall opposition to the concept of nonlawyer ownership.
