Jury Clears Live Nation, United In Seating Patent Row

Law360, New York (March 22, 2012, 6:49 PM ET) -- A Texas federal jury has found that Live Nation Entertainment Inc., United Air Lines Inc. and a slew of other ticket vendors and airlines didn't infringe a patent-holding company's technology for selling plane tickets online because the patents are invalid, attorneys said Thursday.

CEATS Inc. wanted $85 million from more than a dozen companies that it said had stolen its patented ticketing system, which gives consumers information on available tickets and allows them to reserve their exact seats rather than a broad type or section....
