Vonage Loses Bid To Dismiss Sprint Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Vonage Holding Corp.'s attempt to dismiss a patent infringement suit brought by Sprint Nextel Corp. has been thwarted by a Kansas federal judge, setting the stage for a September trial regarding Voice over Internet Protocol technology.

U.S. District Judge John W. Lungstrum ruled on Tuesday against the majority of Vonage's motion for summary judgment, allowing Sprint's lawsuit on all 61 claims of infringement regarding seven patents to proceed to trial. Lungstrum set a jury trial date for Sept. 4.
