Health Care Reform Faces Ultimate Test In High Court

Law360, Washington (March 23, 2012, 7:20 PM EDT) -- As the Obama administration's health reform law celebrates its second anniversary, it also faces its greatest challenge as Supreme Court oral arguments examining the constitutionality of the mandate start Monday.

The high court has divvied the arguments up into six hours over three days, and plans to discuss issues surrounding the Anti-Injunction Act, individual mandates, severability and Medicaid expansion. Based on the arguments and briefs, the court could strike down all or part of the law before it is fully implemented in 2014.
