EC Launches Review Of Universal's $1.9B EMI Buyout

Law360, Los Angeles (March 23, 2012, 8:13 PM EDT) -- The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation into the proposed $1.9 billion purchase of EMI Group’s recorded music arm by Vivendi SA’s Universal Music Group, saying Friday in its announcement that the new entity would be almost twice the size of its next-largest competitor.
