JOBS Act To Bring Hedge Funds Into Advertising World

Law360, New York (March 29, 2012, 6:58 PM EDT) -- With Congress passing the JOBS Act earlier this week, hedge funds and private equity firms soon could start advertising to the general public for the first time, pulling them out of the shadows of the financial world, attorneys say.

Once it becomes law and regulators write the required rules, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act will relax marketing restrictions for hedge funds, private equity firms and others, removing a longstanding ban on general solicitations of private offerings.
