Judge Approves $55M Deal In FedEx Bias Case

Law360, New York (August 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bringing a race discrimination class action against FedEx Express to a close after more than four years, a federal judge has granted final approval of a settlement, in which the FedEx Corp. unit will shell out about $55 million.

Judge Susan Illston on Tuesday also signed off on a bid by class members awarding class counsel a total of $15 million in fees and costs as part of the settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
