Atlantic Boosts Stake In 300-MW Okla. Wind Farm

Law360, New York (April 2, 2012, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Atlantic Power Corp. has acquired near-total control of a $470 million wind farm outside Oklahoma City, representing a big move into renewable energy, the Boston-based firm announced Monday.

Atlantic in January had purchased a 51 percent stake in the Canadian Hills wind project, and Monday’s announcement brings its portion to 99 percent.

When the 300-megawatt project starts spinning in November, wind will make up 15 percent of Atlantic’s generating capacity, up from 3 percent now, the company said.
