Law360, New York (April 03, 2012, 1:33 PM ET) -- An Australian court has found that Google Inc. misled consumers by allowing companies to post search result advertisements featuring a rival's name in the headline, partially overturning a ruling in favor of the Internet giant, an Australian regulator said Tuesday.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission had appealed a Federal Court of Australia judge's determination in September that the companies that made the ads were responsible for them, not Google. The ACCC sued Google over the ads in 2007.
