T-Mobile Asks FCC To Halt Verizon's Spectrum Buying Spree

Law360, New York (April 4, 2012, 8:32 PM EDT) -- T-Mobile USA Inc. on Wednesday called on the Federal Communications Commission to stop Verizon Wireless' spectrum purchasing deal with various cable companies, saying Verizon is attempting to corner the market by stockpiling the unused blocks of airwaves.

T-Mobile took issue with Verizon's effort to purchase advanced wireless services licenses in the 1.7 gigahertz band from various cable companies, saying in a blog post that it is not a “run of the mill set of transactions that should be rubber-stamped by the FCC."
