ITC To Probe Apple, Sony, Others Over Display Patents

Law360, New York (April 5, 2012, 3:09 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will investigate possible infringement of digital display patents by several major electronics makers including Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Sony Corp., the agency said Thursday.

The ITC investigation follows a complaint that accuses Apple, Samsung, Sony, Research In Motion Ltd., HTC Corp., LG Electronics Inc. and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB of importing consumer electronics that infringe three patents — U.S. Patent Numbers 6,650,327; 6,816,145; and 5,717,881 — owned by Graphic Properties Holdings Inc.
