How To Do Real Estate Deals With NYC's MTA

Law360, New York (April 10, 2012, 6:06 PM EDT) -- New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority is offering private real estate companies rare development opportunities in spots that might otherwise be off-limits to them. But no great deal comes without a few sacrifices.

The MTA and the city's Economic Development Corp. jointly issued a request for proposals late last month for the "disposition and reactivation" of seven properties, including a choice SoHo retail site, three commercially and residentially-zoned properties in the Bronx, and a potential industrial development site in Brooklyn.
