U.K. Competition Commission Details Rail Probe

Law360, New York (August 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.K. Competition Commission's investigation of Britain's rail industry will focus on the conduct of train operators, manufacturers and franchising companies, according to a statement released by the regulator on Friday.

The Competition Commission will look into Angel Trains, HSBC Rail and Porterbrook, Great Britain's three main rolling stock leasing companies, which the Office of Rail Regulation has alleged own a combined total of 96% of all rolling stock in the U.K.
