BSEE, Coast Guard Agree To New Oil Spill Response Plan

Law360, New York (April 6, 2012, 4:39 PM EDT) -- Drawing on lessons learned from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday signed an agreement designed to improve the agencies’ responses to such disasters.

The agreement outlines the efforts of the two agencies to strengthen oil discharge planning, preparedness and response for offshore facilities used for oil and gas drilling, production or related activities occurring on the Outer Continental Shelf.
