Microsoft To Pay $1B For 800 AOL Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (April 9, 2012, 2:49 PM EDT) -- AOL Inc. will sell 800 patents to Microsoft Corp. and grant a nonexclusive license to its remaining 300-plus patents in a sale worth over $1 billion in cash, the latest in a recent spate of billion-dollar technology industry patent deals, the company announced Monday.
