Bed Bath & Beyond Settles Calif. ZIP Code Action

Law360, New York (April 9, 2012, 8:22 PM ET) -- Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. reached a settlement worth up to $10.7 million on Friday in a California class action claiming the company illegally collected customers' ZIP codes, a deal that should also end several related suits, the plaintiff's counsel said.

Plaintiff Barbara Salmonson filed a motion for preliminary approval of a class settlement in federal court. She alleged the New Jersey-based company violated California's Song-Beverly Credit Card Act by requesting and recording the ZIP codes.
