Biofuel Groups Back EPA Fuel Rule In Petroleum Group's Suit

Law360, New York (April 10, 2012, 1:18 PM ET) -- Six biofuel and biotechnology trade groups sought Friday to intervene in the American Petroleum Institute's lawsuit in the D.C. Circuit over the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 2012 renewable fuel use requirements, arguing that rule changes could harm the renewable fuel industry.

The Advanced Biofuels Association, Biotechnology Industry Organization and others asked the court for permission to defend an EPA standard requiring gasoline and diesel refiners and importers to use 8.6 million gallons of cellulosic biofuels.
