Deepwater MDL Court Issues $134M In Oil Spill Claims

Law360, New York (April 10, 2012, 2:20 PM ET) -- The new claims administrator in multidistrict litigation over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill said Tuesday that a court-appointed transition team has issued $134 million to spill victims since the court took over the process from BP PLC a month ago.

The administrator, Patrick Juneau, said that as of April 6, more than 5,200 claimants who opted to settle claims against BP outside the sprawling litigation had received at least partial payments under the transition process.
