GAO Upholds DOE's Award Of $123M Cleanup Project

Law360, New York (April 11, 2012, 3:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected TPMC-EnergySolutions Environmental Services LLC's challenge to a U.S. Department of Energy task order for a $123 million environmental remediation project in Moab, Utah, according to a decision published Tuesday.

Pennsylvania-based TPMC argued that its proposal for excavating and transporting residual radioactive material, or RRM, from the DOE's Moab site was superior to the one put forward by Idaho-based Portage Inc., which won the project in November.
