NYU Agrees To Pare Down Campus Expansion

Law360, New York (April 11, 2012, 1:24 PM EDT) -- New York University has agreed to scale back its proposed 2.4-million-square-foot campus expansion in lower Manhattan, shrinking the project by more than 370,000 square feet in response to the community's concerns about crowding and historic preservation, according to a Wednesday statement.

NYU agreed to trim various parts of the Greenwich Village project, dropping an entire 20,700-square-foot temporary gymnasium and 183,000 square feet of below-grade space and shrinking square footage at all four of the proposed new buildings, winning the support of Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer....
