Credit Card Cos. Face Patent Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (August 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- American Express and three other companies that issue credit cards have been hit with a lawsuit accusing them of infringing a number of patents covering online methods of approving credit.

In the complaint, which was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, NextCard LLC alleged that American Express, Discover, HSBC and PNC infringed four of its patents.
