Caterpillar Unloads $400M Aussie Mining Distributor

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 3:38 PM EDT) -- Caterpillar Inc-affiliated dealer WesTrac Pty. Ltd. has struck an agreement with the equipment giant to buy its Australian mining distribution and product support system in a deal valued at about $400 million, WesTrac said Thursday.

The acquisition gives WesTrac, Caterpillar’s main dealer for northern China, the distribution network formerly operated by Bucyrus International Inc., which Caterpillar took over last year, according to WesTrac.
